"War on Terror" is Over - Obama

This Explains Everything
What is it with political leaders having a problem using English words and understanding basic definitions?  Back in the day, we had a news story of a President, then Bill Clinton, questioning the definition of the word, "is".  What?  The word, "is" means "is" and has always meant "is" but according to Bill, it has a varying definition.  Really?

This White House insists on saying that the Taliban is not a terror group but rather an "armed insurgency".  What?  School children are being slaughter, civilian people are being beheaded around the world and now our White House is agreeing with an Al Jazeera English's policy of banning the word, "terrorism".  One of Al Jazeera's executives was quoted to have said, that one person's terrorist is another person's freedom fighter.  So how many freedom fighters do you know of in history that just slaughtered women and children?  Huh.  Stumped?  Me too.

Here we are again finding ourselves down the road to the "meaning of definitions" and it seems that many American's are just not thinking when they hear these soundbites.  Our nation's citizenry has become so dumbed-down that we seem to longer care!  It seems that most people are just taking whatever the White House says and assuming that our government has our "best" interest at heart.   The United States White House is aligning itself with the type of ideology that Al Jazerra promotes.  This is NOT reflective of my belief system or for that matter the belief system of our founding fathers.

So let's look at this word, terrorism.  According to the FBI's Definitions of Terrorism in the U.S. Code: "International terrorism" means activities with the following three characteristics:
- Involve violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law;
- Appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and
- Occur primarily outside the territorial jurisdiction of the U.S., or transcend national boundaries in terms of the means by which they are accomplished, the persons they appear intended to intimidate or coerce, or the locale in which their perpetrators operate or seek asylum.
Well, doesn't that sound like the Taliban to you?  According to the FBI's definition then, they are terrorists!  This is ridiculous that the White House is playing word games with definition's and the meaning of terrorism?  FOX News asks this question as well and discusses it at length.

The Kelly File also has picked up this discussion with a small dialog of clips from the White House spokesman.

Let's not forget, in light of all this "terrorism" Obama declared that the 'War on Terror" was over so there you go.  Delete the word from use and the problem goes away.

Bergdahl - the Story Continues

The administration (all roads are pointing to Obama's Assistant National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes) has known the findings of the Army's investigation but still won't acknowledge the Army's charge of desertion against Bowe Bergdahl.  This claim was first made by retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer and he has quite a bit to say about the whole case while interviewed by FOX News.

Bergdahl was in my friend's son's unit. Those guys in his unit spoke out from the on-set that he was a deserter when the story broke that Obama had traded prisoners from Guantanamo for his release. Why won't the administration say what is going on?  Why are they stonewalling?

This information of his desertion will be released (as it has now been done because the Army is pursuing Court-martial proceedings against Bergdahl), so what is the administration hiding? What is going on behind the scenes that this information is being kept from the public?

Why did the administration exchange five Taliban Guantanamo prisoners (who, by-the-way were exchanged without Senior leadership at the pentagon knowing anything about it before it happened) for a known deserter? What about the American's who were from his unit who went out "looking" for him and then lost their lives?

When will American's wake up to the fact that our National leadership is working against the interest of us, it's citizenry? What are we (as a nation) doing to protect us (as a nation) from this group called ISIS? Obama won't even use language to speak out against them by calling them what they are, Islamic Terrorists.  In his last State of the Union Address, Obama gave less than 5 minutes to the topic of "terrorism".  Even liberal journalists like Tom Brokaw and liberal Senator Diane Feinstein are concerned and speaking out that there is NO plan from this administration and that the administration needs to DO something.  Ahhh - but do date, this administration is doing little to nothing as these terrorists gain more territory (last week invading Yemen's presidential palace).

Obama promised "change"!  If you voted for him, you are getting just that, change.  I would like some "un-change" please.  The world is a scary place, and it is getting scarier.

This is why I put my trust in the Lord - He is my source of peace in troubling times!

Death-Row; one man's plight

I have a dear friend who is facing an incredible family crisis, like none any of us have probably ever faced.  Today she informed me that her brother-in-law has lost his last appeal from The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals on Wednesday.  He is the longest person sitting on death-row in the state of Texas.  He has been there for 30 years.  That was before I even came to Texas.  That's longer than I have been married.  That is a lifetime.  He lives in an 8x10 cell and even now, doesn't know what you will know, that his appeal is denied and his execution date will be reset for sometime in the next two months.

First off, I am an advocate for capital punishment.  Yes, I believe people need to die for their heinous actions BUT, we need to be sure that the person we are punishing is guilty beyond ALL doubt.  This is where this case get's tricky.  Lester was a man who told a series a lies, had no alibi and was in the wrong place at the wrong time and because of his own discrepancies surround the truth made his credibly iffy and so was found more readily guilty.  Four people died that terrible day and other people reacted in fear, ran, accused, and lied, yes, even people who were supposed to defend the law, in the least, stretched it.  This story could be a movie plot, like some of your favorite movies we all enjoy in the theaters.  You know, like "The Fugitive", where a good man is wrongly accused and all roads seem to point to him except in this case, there are no cameras and there is no "cut" and there also seems to be no justice on this of heaven for this man.  Lester's wife has waited for him all these years, standing by him, as does his family and yet, because he is on death row, they can't even see him.  Her email's maybe will get delivered to him, days or weeks later, when the correctional institution seems to get to it and he is treated like an animal on some days by those who order him into his cell or out into the Texas heat or rain.  He is treated as, well, a criminal.  Hmmm - seems to fit when we are dealing with a "wicked" soul but from what I hear about the "rest of this story" he is just a man who failed to tell the truth while a series of crazy events unfolded.

Today, Les's health is failing and he is ready to "go home" but his family isn't ready to see his life come to an end for someone else's crime.  Les knows where he is going and he is at peace with God.  That is Good News, but what about justice and what is right?  This is a scary thing and we all need to be mindful that it is "just by the grace of God" that this could be someone you love.

Several people have since come forward who KNOW what happened that day, risking their own lives to speak-up about who really was the "trigger" man and how he has gloated with "getting away with murder" and what really happened that day.  See, some of these people are evil in much of what they do.  They were the "bad crowd" your mother warned you about but because this whole incident was sketchy involving law people working the wrong side of the law, political appointed people with careers in play and reputations on the line and even elected officials trying to jockey for position, the truth keeps getting sidelined and Les sits.  He has been treated less than kindly by many during his incarceration, because, well, he is a criminal - right?  Well, my bible says differently.  We are to care and visit those who are in prison.  Even Jesus mentioned them.  I think that makes them in the least, noteworthy.

There are many who may be reading this who may know another side to this story, as it was local news before I got here, but I pray God will bring forth justice and that people will look long and hard and what they could do to help this man before he is put to death.  My understanding is that he wanted to buy an airplane and his wife said no.  He went out and bought one anyway, to cover up the purchase, he took the plane apart to bring it home, piece-by-piece; as if he would be "building" one.  He did have phone records calling this place, as he did buy an airplane that fateful day but no one knew he was there and he lied about it to cover his plan; his plan to have a plane and not tell his wife.  He is guilty of doing his own thing and MANY have come forward to speak on his behalf BEFORE this injustice is carried out.  How many of you have ever bought something against your mate's wishes and hid it?  What if events turned on you.  Who would "stand by you"?  I sure know a LOT of people who have lied on countless occasions and thank God a murder didn't go down on the day THEY did.

Their is also the part about the ammunition that he used.  That too has been played up by the prosecutors in this case, and it was taken a bit far for flavor.  I know SEVERAL people who "pack" their own bullets, buy and collect rare guns and yep, even have been caught in a lie but again, that doesn't make them guilty of capital murder!  It certainly shouldn't be shocking to have "criminals" (who were prepared for an altercation that day) to have their own unmarked bullets from rare guns on hand. There seems to be some common sense missing, which in and of itself is a theme we all have seen played out, again and again in our culture over the last few decades.  The connection was a stretch and unfortunately for Les, a hobbiest who enjoyed guns too, he was the perfect "fall guy" for this fateful day.  This was a perfect storm, to pin it on him, because legal people were involved with this sour drug deal that went south and we certainly don't want to see the "good guys" being exposed for their evil.

I am not saying Les was a totally innocent man nor was he clear of wrong doing, but I am saying, capital murder for a crime he didn't do, seems a bit strong in the least and downright wrong.  Why not give him a new trial and let ALL the evidence come out. I don't understand why he can't get a new trial when there are SEVERAL who will testify to the truth that were not heard from in the beginning.  This is someone's life here and we have to get it right.  We all have seen and heard of people who were incarcerated for years set free because of "new" evidence came for some even that maybe was withheld during the initial trial and people are released for mistakes made.

Praying this story ends with justice and a new trial will miraculously be given where ALL evidence can and will be heard.  There are TOO many questions about who is being punished for these murders and I am praying that God will move where man seems to be stalling.  Another thought is if Governor Rick Perry would step-in to help save this innocent man of capital murder before his execution is under his watch.  It is a scary thing to fall into the hands of the living God and on that day, many will not have a dry eye.  God have mercy!

The Lone Star State...blue? May it never be!

Well, whether you vote or not, the Republican Party is the ONLY party that protects the unborn (even after they are born). This is just ONE issue God cares about and so should we.  I personally am a conservative but I ALWAYS vote. I have read both parties platforms with my Bible in mind and I find more in the Republican stance that reflects my Christian values than I do with the Democratic platform. See my Bible says, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God" and all these "things" will be added unto you. God cares about the Kingdom (Biblical teachings) not the stuff (economy).  I am NOT saying ALL Republicans are Christians or that all Dem's are not. I am saying that when you compare the PLATFORM in which the members embrace, the Bible and it's teachings seem to be more important to the Republicans than to the Democrats. With this, let us pray! We need GOD'S love to be seen in our hearts, in our homes, in our churches (yes - many churches don't even treat their members as they would themselves), in our cities, in our states and in our nation. Father God, we are SO far from you! Forgive our sins and please heal our land. BRING revival to wake people up to YOUR ways, YOUR truth, YOUR Word. As believers we need to always walk with HUMILITY! HUMILITY....wow, that seems to be a dying word in our culture. Even people in the church, well, sometimes we are the "chief priest" of this error. With this, I share a post I have put on several walls:

Here is a troubling thought...the Lone Star State being blue? What? Unheard of you say? Take a minute to read the article below and then realize that WE as a party really do need to wake-up to the changing times before they change OUR state. We (the Republican Party) have to be better listeners, kinder people and basically work on our presentation and perceived image.

I have watched the second election of a president that I was shocked to see win even once and I have had to ask myself how? Why? What happened? I have talked to many who have voted for him - twice! I have noticed some similar things and this article expresses many of the same issues I have experienced.

One common lure is that people like something for free! All of us do. This isn't just the dirty Dem's who are like this. You know, like when you are at Sam's Club and they are handing out samples for FREE and people swarm the table for a morsel. The Dems are making their "tables" look inviting, hip, cool and trendy while the Republicans come across as arrogant, aloof, and bickering old relics. In the last week I have heard the adjective "pompass" before the name of a Republican several times yet the Dems are wearing the matching "shoe on the other foot" and getting by with it. It's a perception and in this culture of "image" being everything, I think the republican party could stand to find a good "personal trainer" so we can get back in the game.

I can hear it now, it's the liberal media's fault. Well, that IS true to some degree but with facebook, twitter, blogs, you-tube and a host of other social media devices I think we have to stop blaming and start doing! Again, this is a perception that Republicans complain and whine but offer no solutions. All of you reading this have a facebook account yet how often do YOU let YOUR voice be heard on the "issues"? Many of us are silent in our realm of influence (our personal facebook wall) and we wonder why things are changing. It's time we ALL engage our friends. WE have to talk to people around us about sometimes very personal and quite possibly politically incorrect views. Surely you have noticed that the left has NO issue sharing their opinions, anywhere, anytime. I am not advocating rude but we do need to speak up and many of you need to let people around you know your thoughts.

The Republican Party's platform have many of the solutions our nation needs but we have been failing to engage the changing national landscape, one person-at-a-time and therefore, adjusting our delivery of our message to the people. This is NOT about compromise, it's about presentation. A little love goes a long way and being a bit more swavey won't hurt.

Saying "I'm Sorry"

I have had this same discussion many times recently and so it was good to see Bill O'Reilly address this topic on his "Tip of the Day" segment this week.

There is a difference between saying you are sorry and making amends or restitution.  Seems many in our culture today don't understand the "rules" of an apology.  Saying you are sorry is a good place to start, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't DO anything to fix the relationship or the matter.

When we break something, we should FIX it.   Didn't you hear that as a kid growing up?  Well, maybe not as many today have not been taught manners but that is a topic for another day. The right thing to do, even though many in this culture have lost this art of civility, is to go to a person, say you were wrong and then ask what you can do to repair the damage you have caused.  It's what makes the world go round in a peaceful way...love!  If you love someone, you would do to them as you would want them to do to you.   Wouldn't you want someone to treat you with this kind of love?  Then you must DO this kind of love too! If you offend someone, you should make it right, not just say, "I'm sorry" but find out what they need from you to repair the damage you have caused.

This is seen everyday in our world we live in when we file an insurance claim for an "accident'.  When someone hits your car, there is a process that unfolds to repair the damage.  We have insurance to cover our mistakes when driving.  Well, the same thing should be true for our actions in life.  When we cause a "foul" there should be an exchange, a payment, a repair to make it right.

Actions ALWAYS speak louder than words and in this case, if you apologize to someone, you also must be willing to MAKE it right by doing something. Words are cheap!  What a wonderful world this would be if people would just OWN UP on what they have done.  We ALL fail.  We ALL need to be able to own it, address it, confess it and repair it.

2nd Amendment and Newtown

Bill Stevens a Newtown resident has this testimony right!  Rather than re-writing his entire testimony before congress here, you need to listen to this.  He is absolutely right, there is a CONSTITUTION still in America and DUE PROCESS.  Legislation is NOT due process.  Wake up AMERICA!

"911 will be called AFTER the security of my home is established." - Bill Stevens.  He went on to say, "Charlton Heston made the phrase, 'from my cold dead hands' famous.  And I will tell you here today you will take my ability to protect my Victory 'from my cold dead hands'."

'Nuf said.

Benghazi and Accountability

So tell me again why so many defended Hilary and the president when they stood in the rose garden and blamed a video?  Used to be that when leadership were caught in their lies, they resigned before bringing disgrace on our nation.  Remember Watergate?  How many people were fired, removed and/or resigned?  Today we have four people dead in Benghazi and one is an Ambassador not to mention the two former Navy seals and yet it seems some just want to "sweep this under the rug and move forward" like nothing terrible has really happened.

"Sweeping things under the rug and moving forward" seems to be a "spell" over many these days, not only in politics but I have seen this personally in my family and even in the church.  What happened to accountability?  How about responsibility?  Integrity?  Repentance?  Restitution?  When we allow people/leadership to do this, we are basically saying that this "injustice" (whatever it may be) is no big deal and we hear them saying "get over it".

Really?  I have seen this same demon manifesting in pastors taking this same stance over issues in their church when it comes to family disputes.  They want to "sweep things under the rug".  No one wants to get their "hands dirty" and so they "wash their hands" of involvement in anything "messy" so they don't loose tithes or members because too many people today are not about truth; they are about easy.

It reminds me of Meg Ryan's line in "You've Got Mail".  Kathleen Kelly is dealing with the loss of her business and she keeps hearing this line as if it is truth.  She is told that it is nothing personal; it's business.  She finally responds with this dialog, "What is that supposed to mean? I am so sick of that. All that means is that it wasn't personal to *you*. But it was personal to me. It's *personal* to a lot of people. And what's so wrong with being personal, anyway?"

I have seen SO many things in the past few years (even aside from politics) where people act like personal attacks are nothing personal.  Really?  Or where accountability and leadership don't want to get involved with "this or that" because that is a "family issue" or they use the line of it's "personal".

"And what's so wrong with being personal, anyway?" - Kathleen Kelly

We seem to live in a day where accountability and restitution seem to be a thing of the past.  Tragic!

Drugs and YOUR Performance

Saw this on a social web-site and thought the information was worth sharing.  Don't think drugs affect you?  Think again.

"In 1995, a group of NASA scientists experimented with drugs, literally. They studied the effects that various legal and illegal drugs have on house spiders, and specifically on the way they weave their webs. The results are both surprising and... not.

The spider that was high on marijuana did a fair job weaving, but then got bored or distracted and didn't finish. The one on speed went really fast, of course, but without much awareness of the overall picture: it left large gaps. The acid-trippy spider wove a psychedelic, symmetrical web which was very pretty but not great at catching bugs.

And that brings us to caffeine. Wow. As I sit here typing, a large cup of coffee beside my laptop, I, well, I don't really want it anymore.

The NASA scientists suggested the possibility of analyzing the periodic structure of the spiderwebs (or lack thereof) as a means of determining the relative toxicity levels of drugs. They do not seem to have continued down that road, however; one obstacle may have been the difficulty of extrapolating a given drug's toxicity to humans from its toxicity to spiders. Though similarities between effects on the two species do seem to exist, I'm not sure caffeine makes me feel quite like THAT. In fact, if I wove spiderwebs, that one would probably be pre-morning-cup-of-coffee.

Such questions as what the research had to do with space shuttles or Mars rovers, where the scientists got the drugs, and what happened to the spiders later unfortunately cannot be answered here. The relevant NASA briefs are cited by other academic papers and New Scientist Magazine (www.newscientist.com/article/mg14619750.500), but aren't themselves published on the web. The world wide one, that is.

Interesting article, don't you think?  Makes me glad the cup in front of me is decaf, thank you!

No More Twinkies

Not that I personally was a big fan of Twinkies' (Hostess Brand) as an adult but as a kid, they have some sweet memories. It's been years since I had one, but there is something nostalgic that has died with the closing of this plant.

With our health-conscience culture, I understand people are eating less of these non-perishable snacks but that was not the reason for the closing of their doors.  The reason, you ask?  Well, honestly, the union.  Oh I know, some will say it's the greed of the CEO's who have taken great profits but isn't it also true that the union was being greedy too?  They were striking for better pay and now, 18,500 people are without jobs.  Wow.  Seems a bit foolish to me.

People want to point fingers in these days and everyone needs to start taking inventory and realize that we ALL have a part to play in America's successes or failures.  Healing needs to come to our land.

Ronald Reagan Democratic Joke

This is a classic Ronald Reagan story, delivered with perfect timing and gentle humor.  I sure do miss this man, his character and his leadership.   I pray we live to see another President with his poise, wisdom and strength to lead our country as well as he did.

Reagan was known for his sense of humor and this is one of his stories that I have heard him share.  His jokes were clean, funny and even smart.  I hope you take a minute to hear it and ready yourself for a good laugh.  ENJOY!

Lesser of Two Evils

Praying for our nation, our election and our God to forgive our land. I can't tell you how many times in the last months my heart is gripped to pray for our nation. God has my attention - does He have yours? How can we (the church) really believe that God is OK with what we are doing as a nation? He rebuked Israel, His beloved, many times for having a heart that was far from him and we think, we in America, won't face the consequences of our luke-warmness? Church - WAKE UP! We can't have evil AND good. We can't be for things that God is against and expect God to bless us. We can't sit by and DO nothing! Remember the parable of the three servants? (Matthew 25:14-30). God rebuked the servant who DID NOTHING! God is a REWARDER of those that DILIGENTLY seek Him, not who casually talk about Him or have bumper-sticker on their car or a cross on their neck!

I am PRAYING for the Christians in this country to WAKE-UP, stop drinking the "kool-aid" and listening to the voice of deception (it is in the church you know) and VOTE for things that God DOES care about...like protecting LIFE, defending MARRIAGE, LOVING ISRAEL! These things DO matter. Remember the scripture in Matthew 6:33 " But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" - (by-the-way, these are written in RED) as Jesus was saying what matters in the KINGDOM not the ECONOMY! "Politically correct" will burn up in the presence of the fiery red, piercing eyes of Jesus when He comes back as KING!

I am SO into the love of God, but God is also a God of justice and this nation will be found wanting if we continue on this course of destruction, thumbing our nose at God and doing our own thing, seeking our own pleasure, and living life our own way. God made a way of escape for even one BEFORE He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, that is my hope, He will make a way of escape for me and my family too (I am even asking for my friends, my church, my neighborhood and my nation but they must humble themselves and bow their knees to the King of King and the Lord of Lords!) Father God, SAVE US from ourselves!

So for those of you who get the question from friends and family about the struggle of voting "the lesser of two evils" or possibly you are struggling yourself, I wanted to share this piece by David Barton that he published today. Put's the matter into a very concise package. ENJOY!

Are we really dealing with a lesser of two evils this election?
by David Barton/WallBuilders on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 9:34am ·

I keep having people tell me that in this election, the only choice we have is to vote for the lesser of two evils. So, let me see if I have this right:

One is pro-abortion, one is pro-life; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is pro-gay-marriage, one is pro-traditional marriage; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is pro-Muslim, one is pro-Israel; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for increasing debt, one is for reducing debt; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is against increased energy exploration, one is for it; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for violating the rights of religious conscience, the other for preserving it intact; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for dramatically cutting the size of the military, the other for strengthening it; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is against parental empowerment and school choice, the other is for it; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for appointing judicial activists to the Supreme Court, the other for original intent constitutionalists; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for the government takeover of private businesses, the other for entrepreneurship and free enterprise and private ownership; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for an expanded role for the United Nations in American affairs, the other for a reduced role; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is against American Exceptionalism and wants to be like Europe, the other promotes American Exceptionalism and America as a unique, special, blessed nation; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

I'm not sure that I get the lesser of two evils thing, unless folks are deliberately excluding all of these (and many other) serious issues and just looking at the ones they want to pick and choose. The fantasy of two evils are our only choice can be sustained only if one denies the above issues.

David Barton

Steven Spielberg

This was an interesting piece on Steven Spielberg by 60 Minutes a couple of weeks ago.  I found much of it fascinating that this small, insecure, loner kid continued to press on and become, well, Steven Spielberg the Hollywood legend.  What an incredible mind he has and as we all know, such incredible talent.

My heart was saddened by many of his recounts of his childhood as I love the Jews and all those who stand with Israel so to hear him talk of being persecuted was troubling.  I also loved seeing the interview with his parents; sad their marriage didn't make it.  I can only imagine how many years they could have been married.

But why I am posting anything about this matter at all is that Spielberg decided not to release his newest movie, Lincoln, until after the elections.  Why?  Did he paint such a great picture of Lincoln, a Republican, that he didn't want voters to go to the polls and vote against Obama, a democrat?  Why would he hold the release date?

If he did hold the release of the movie to help "save the election" for Obama, than this is indeed troubling to me as I don't understand how Spielberg (a Jew) could support Obama when Obama wouldn't even meet with Bebe Netanyahu over the matter of Iran and Israel.  In fact, Obama has never even visited Israel in all his travels to the middle east his entire presidency.  How can an American president miss visiting our greatest friend and ally in the middle east when he has traveled there several times unless he clearly doesn't like them?  It is clear that many in the Middle East have far from fond affections toward Israel or Jews in general, yet is Spielberg won't release his movie before the elections as to not upset the country.   Troubling indeed.

I look forward to his new movie and I continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for God's beloved Israel and for the Jewish people (wherever they live), and for the Jewish nation and with that, I pray for these elections. My bible is clear on how God views, His beloved Israel and if God loves them, you know I certainly do too and will stand with them.

2016 Obama's America

Last week, a distant family relative who lives in Massachusetts was encouraged by her husband to watch the movie, 2016 Obama's America.  She had been a very quiet about most of her political views, but none-the-less, she was supporter of Obama; that is until she viewed this movie.

Her facebook post was expressing her change in conviction and it all centered around facts she heard in this movie.  See, this is not a politically charged movie, it is merely a documentary on how the Obama machine runs.  Up to this point, people have felt he was a communist, a dictator, and some even have felt he was the anti-Christ himself, but this movie is not based on rhetoric, it's based on facts, and people in Obama's life and their worldview and how they shaped Obama's worldview.  The movie is quite interesting if it were so chilling, as this is our life and our country, not just some Hollywood production that when we leave the movie we go home and resume our lives.  No, this is the story of our current president of the United States and his mission to "even the playing field" by destroying the land that I love because he disapproves of American colonization.

My husband and I saw this movie in the theater the weekend it opened and we have been encouraging people to see the movie for themselves.  Here you can view it from your own home, on your own computer.  Make your own decision but know that you won't be able to say, "no one told you!"

Obama: Then and Now

How people can even think this man is worthy of their vote is beyond me.  I love this clip as it shows that nothing is new, things are still the same and "We've Heard It All Before".    Same speeches.  Same promises and nothing is better.

Look at the numbers folks and you can see, he is just spinning things like he always has.  He said that Bush's economy numbers were "terrible" and yet he is no bragging out how great the SAME numbers are under his administration.  He promised "Hope and Change" and I for one am Hoping FOR Change.  Vote Him Out in 2012.

Eastwood Spars...

I have been away from my blog for a few months due to a move and just the business of life, but I have been convicted to sit back down at the computer to share all the good stuff that is going on.  Yes, GOOD stuff!  There seems to be a wind of HOPE blowing that will be bringing about some CHANGE!

I have been following the Republican Convention that just ended yesterday and I loved SO much of it. Most of the evening speakers had me captive in my seat.  I didn't want to miss one word.  AMAZING. Of course there were a few favorites and so I will begin with one of the highlights!

Last night Clint Eastwood spoke and it was SO great to hear someone from LIBERAL California speak up against the Hollywood machine!  It was an awesome speech and I hope you enjoy it in case you missed it!

Gingrich on Fox News

Whatever you think about Newt Gingrich this is a great interview where you can see his heart, his transformed heart.  Many conservatives don't "trust" that he has "changed" his ways regarding his past "sins" but I don't how many politicians you have seen lately who have to hold back a tear when talking about their faith.

Newt quoting Pope John Paul II from the movie called Nine Days that Changed the World, said "he doesn't say have courage he says 'be not afraid.'"

"If you can hide beneath the cross you have nothing to be ashamed of." Newt Gingrich.

I am still not excited to vote FOR Romney as MANY in the GOP and media keep telling me will be my candidate but  I KNOW I have to vote against Obama again.  This was what I had to do the last election cycle, when I voted against Obama by voting for McCain and because we had such a weak candidate, Obama won.

These are troubling times to me as I continue to pray for a candidate that will CAPTIVATE the American people with convictions that are conservative and God-fearing.  I guess that is rub, we have a nation of people who are NOT God-fearing or conservative.  Either Rick Sanatorium or Newt Gingrich would have my vote over Romney, but unless conservatives begin to rise up and be heard, we will be stuck with Romney.

Did you know...

To listen to most people talk today, in the news media especially, you would think that our founding fathers were closer to the far left agenda then even the most liberal of politicians.  I, for one, am tiring of the continual misinformation that is being shared.   Recently I ran across the following again and just had to post it.  It is ridiculous to think our founders were not Christians (again as many in the media and politics would claim); 52 of the 55 signers of the Constitution were members of the established Orthodox churches i n the colonies.  These were men who gave their all; their money, their time, their daily lives and some even their fortunes for the establishment of this great nation and their desire was for all to be free; free from the rule of a government who imposed into their personal choices.  They desired to establish a new land where people could choose and not be forced into "the governments" way of doing things.  Oh my, has the pendulum swung in the other direction.  Take a minute and think about it...

Moses with 10 commandments centered on the top!
As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the US Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers carved into the stone.  Each one of these great people are facing the middle and are looking at one individual carved into the middle.  So who are they looking at in the middle?  They are fixated on the only carving with a full frontal view of the image of Moses.  That's right, Moses, God's personal law-giver from the Old Testament.  Remember how he carried the LAW OF THE LORD down to the people.  Seems an appropriate tribute to me and nterestingly enough is that in this display he is also HOLDING the Ten Commandment tables in his arms.  Hmmm - what was that again about separation of church and state?  Ridiculous again we see how modern technology spreads this erroneous discussion that has been taken OUT-OF-CONTEXT!

10 Commandments carved in wood doors.
So what about this?  When you enter the US Supreme Court courtroom you have to open two huge oak doors that are standing at the foot of the room.  On these massive doors are innate carvings.

Yep, you guessed it, engraved on EACH lower portion of EACH door again we find the 10 commandments carved into the wood.  You still think that a relationship with God's word was not important to our country's Founders?  I will continue to show you how our forefathers held to the tenants of Christianity and unashamedly declared their personal convictions.

Moses and 10 Commandments
Let's continue to look at the US Supreme court building as we go inside this highest courtroom in our land.  Located on the wall directly behind and above where these Justices preside when in court is in session is a very large image covering most the wall.  In display we again see an image of Moses clinging to the Ten Commandments again imprinting the beliefs of those in this time with a God who is represented in the teachings of the Bible; the most sacred of all Christian documents.

This is the third image in this historic building showing Moses, the 10 commandments or both and you want me to believe that this was not a significant part of our American history because you say so?  Really?  Wake up people - the images are all around you; at least they were until one-by-one these pieces of American history are being painted over, taken down and archived or some are even being remodeled as they are completely removed.

It has become a relatively new media blitz that has people thinking that this county is not founded on Christian principles because that is what the owners of the media outlets want you to believe.  With the on-set of more and more incredible media technologies filling the airwaves, people are listening to soundbites from liberal personal and they are not fact checking what they are hearing.

Laus Deo - Praise be to God
Over the last 50 to 75 years, even our history books that are being taught in school are being "revised" to take the Christian perspective out and replaced with a more tolerant, politically correct agenda.  Don't just take my word for it, read the book entitled, Freedom's Frame by Rick Green or Original Intent by David Barton.

If we continue our tour of Washington DC pertaining to the question of historians and the American culture in regard to Christianity and the scriptures,  you will find Biblical images scattered about and our countries Christian heritage continually reflected across the city, the government buildings and throughout the paintings, murals and artifacts yet the politicians and the press insist these truths are non-existiant.

Did you know that there are Bible verses etched in stone all over many Federal buildings in DC?  Even the Washington Monument has a permanet reference to God stamped on its peak.  On the aluminum capstone that crowns the building there is an inscription.  It can be found on the east face and is written in Latin. It says "Laus Deo"which when translated means " Praise be to God." Yep!  Right there on top facing the eastern sky!  Amazing!

This on-going attack is being battled at all levels in our culture and sadly, it seems that we are loosing our American Heritage.  Glen Beck has addressed this several times on his outspoken, now ended, television program, The Glen Beck Show. As a child I learned some Latin, and even heard Latin spoken weekly in religious ceremonies.  My older siblings knew MUCH more than I ever did as people began to stray for things of the past and the entire culture wanted to be "modern" in the late 1950's and early 1960's.  This is when the transformation took on a whole new angle.
Ten Commandments

I still remember when there was a full mural covering one of the halls in my south Minneapolis grade school hallway of the Ten Commandments painted from floor to ceiling there to be seen by all everyday.  I also remember when they painted over it and even though I was in first grade, I remember thinking this was odd.  The artwork was extraordinary and beautifully illustrated and it was covered over with a drab, institutional wall coloring that just didn't make sense to me then.  NOW I totally understand it; the Supreme Court ruled and the laws of the land changed yet they still sit with all these religious images surrounding them.  Talk about hypocrisy, since the 1820's the US Supreme Court has opened its court sessions with the prayer of "God save the United Staes and this Honorable Court" yet this same court took prayer out of school?  God save us and save this "honorable" court!

James Madison
James Madison, the fourth president of the United States was known as the Father of the Constitution.  He made the following statement:  "We have staked the whole of all our political Institutions upon the capacity of mankind for Self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

Even our United States Congress has begun each session with a prayer since 1774 and that person has been a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid for by the taxpayer since 1777.  Even in our US Senate Chamber an inscription over the south entrance reads “In God we Trust,” and an inscription over the east doorway reads “Annuit coeptis” (“God has favored our undertakings”).

In the Main Reading Room of the Library of Congress, a statue representing Religion features this inscription: WHAT DOTH THE LORD REQUIRE OF THEE, BUT TO DO JUSTLY, AND TO LOVE MERCY, AND TO WALK HUMBLY WITH THY GOD? Holy Bible, Micah 6:8.   Another statue representingScience has this inscription: "THE HEAVENS DECLARE THE GLORY OF GOD; AND THE FIRMAMENT SHEWETH HIS HANDIWORK. Holy Bible, Psalms 19:1."
Reagan Presidential Oath

Did you know that since George Washington first added "so help me God" to his inaugural oath, every president since has likewise asked for God's assistance at his inauguration.  Not totally convinced they all knew what they were asking, but they all have asked for it none-the-less.

Thomas Jefferson worried that the courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law they would begging making law an oligarchy; the rule of few over many.  How have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for almost 225 years in the country is now suddenly wrong and Unconstitutional?  Because we as a nation have strayed from the founders vision and from what the Bible calls, "our first love".  When we were a nation teaching the Holy Bible and encouraging a belief system that included God, we were a nation that was blessed and prosperous; God was for us.  If God is for us then who can stand against us?  But unfortunately we now are a nation that is loosing the favor of God and it is a dangerous thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Here are some more facts you may not have known.  Since 1775, with the introduction of the chaplaincy into the Army and Navy, every branch of the US armed forces has provided chaplains to facilitate the worship of God in our military.

On October 3, 1789, one week after Congress approved the Bill of Rights, President George Washington recognized "the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor," and therefore declared a national "day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceable to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."

The first federal judiciary was established by the Judiciary Act of 1789, which required federal judges to end their oath of office with "So help me God".

Capitol Building - Washington DC
From 1795 until the 1860's, Christian church services were held on Sundays in the Capitol building in Washington, D.C., attended by such presidents as Jefferson, Madison, John Quincy Adams, and Lincoln, and many other government officials.

A statue of Moses holding the Ten Commandments is featured in the rotunda of the Library of Congress. The Ten Commandments are symbolized in the floor of the National Archives Building in Washington , D.C.

In front of the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. is a sculpted figure leaning on the Ten Commandments. An inscription reads, “Our liberty of worship is not a concession nor a privilege but an inherent right.” A cross and the Ten Commandments are sculpted on a large trylon (3-sided column) in front of the E. Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington, D.C.
Pilgrims Thanksgiving

Based on the Thanksgiving tradition started by the Pilgrims and recognized by other Presidents like George Washington, President Abraham Lincoln declared the last Thursday in November, 1863, as “a day of thanksgiving and prayer to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens.” All Presidents since then have annually called on the nation to thank God in the Thanksgiving season.

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. quotes excerpts from our third President’s bill titled the Virginia Statue Establishing Religious Freedom, which passed the Virginia Legislature on January 16, 1786: “Almighty God hath created the mind free. All attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burthens . . . are a departure from the plan ofthe Holy Author of our religion.”

US Constitution
With a longhand version of dating rarely used today, the Constitution was signed on “the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven.”  In 1776, these signers of the Declaration of Independence boldly proclaimed the United States free of Great Britain, “appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions.”

The Articles of Confederation, which initially governed the United States until the Constitution replaced it, referred to “the Great Governor of the World” and was signed “in the year of our Lord” 1778.

Liberty Bell
The famous Liberty Bell of Philadelphia is inscribed with the message of freedom found in Leviticus 25:10, “Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof.”

The Declaration of Independence holds as “self-evident” that “all men are created equal” and “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”

In the founding era, the word “religion” as used in the First Amendment was defined in the 1776 (and current) Virginia Constitution, by James Madison in his Memorial and Remon-strance, and in other sources as: “the duty which we owe to our Creator and the manner of discharging it.”

Washington
In his first Inaugural Address on April 30, 1789, George Washington repeatedly talked about God’s blessings upon America, saying, “No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the Invisible Hand which conducts the affairs of men more than the people of the United States.”

Let's go back a bit further in history;  on January, 14, 1639, delegates from towns in the colony signed the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut —the first ever written constitution that created a government—which proclaimed that “the word of God requires that to mayntayne the peace and union of such a people there should be an orderly and decent Government established according to God . . . .”

The historic landing of the English settlers at Cape Henry, Virginia, where they erected a wooden cross and held a prayer service. Their first charter granted by King James I to settle Jamestown stated their reliance upon “the Providence of Almighty God” and their work in “propagating” the “Christian Religion” to the native people.

The first representative government in America, the House of Burgesses at Jamestown, first assembled in the church on July 30, 1619, where, as the secretary’s notes state, “forasmuche as men’s affaires doe little prosper where God’s service is neglected, all the Burgesses tooke their place in the Quire till a prayer was said by Mr. Bucke, the Minister, that it would please God to guide and sanctifie all our proceedings, to His owne glory and the good of this plantation.”

The Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris, made with Great Britain to end the Revolutionary War and signed by John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and John Jay on September 3, 1783, begins, “In the Name of the most Holy and undivided Trinity.”

Baptism of Pocahontas
Pocahontas Baptism
The baptism of one of Jamestown’s first Christian converts, the Powhatan princess Pocahontas, is memorialized in a painting that has been displayed in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol Building since 1840.
In God We Trust

In God We Trust was first inscribed on U.S. coins in 1864 under President Lincoln, and in 1956 Congress made it the national motto of the United States.

In 1892 in the Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States case, after listing example after example of official acknowledgments of God and Christianity in America, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously held that “this is a Christian nation.”

Still want to say this "God" thing is not just empty words.  Then explain this to me: how come when our nation was attacked on September 11, 2001 members of congress spontaneously began to sing out, "God Bless America" on the steps of the Capitol building?  Why?  Because deep down in our being, we know when disaster strikes only God Himself is our refuge and strength.  We NEED the Lord!  Father forgive us and heal our land.
