Presidential Eligibility and Election ID Card

In all my life I would have never thought how dishonest people would become when dealing with the top of our own National identity.  I guess it is being young and naive that you believe that all people in America LOVE America and want to keep her free and established as our founders did.  In recent years, it has become clear to all of us that there are just as many agendas here in America as there are agendas in the world.  Nothing is new.  Nothing is surprising. Tyranny is always looking to raise it's head and there will always be a group that is trying to conquer the other.

Yesterday, I saw that Arizona is taking the lead with some of the most advanced legislative action regarding proof of eligibility to hold the highest office in the land, president.  Representative Judy Burges has introduced another bill (as her last one fell short last year because of some last minute political maneuvering) that has 16 members of the Senate as co-sponsors.  It will only take 16 votes in the Senate to pass.  In the House there are 50 co-sponsors with the need for only 31 votes for passage.  There are ten other states who are addressing this issue as well (controlling 107 of the electoral college votes).  Seems many are interested in fixing a gap in the current interpretation of the demands set by the U.S. Constitution regarding federal election procedures that allowed Barack Obama to be nominated, elected and inaugurated without providing proof of his qualifications for the office of president in the 2008 elections.

New Hampshire has created a simple legislation to address the issue requiring an affidavit from a candidate stating that their qualifications including age, residence and being a "natural born citizen".  Georgia has gone quite a bit further with legislation HB37 by Representative Bobby Franklin that not only demands original birth certificate documentation but it also provides a procedure for and declares that citizens have "standing" to challenge the documentation.  They go on to state that each political party shall provide each candidate ... original documentation that he meets the qualifications of Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 1 and Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 5 of the U.S. Constitution to serve as president of the USA if elected to such office.

So according to the "liberal" media it is just a "minority" of "right-wing" conspiracy theorist who think that Obama was not eligible under the U.S. Constitution to serve as Commander and Chief.  Hmmm - so why are TEN states forming legislation to have candidates PROVE eligibility to serve?  Because the liberal media has is WRONG again!

One TRILLION Dollars

If you listen to any news station, radio, television, anything news, you would have had to heard about our national debt and how we need to stop it, yada-yada.  I think all of us are a bit tired of hearing it and we really begin to turn a deaf ear to the matter.  One reason I think we do this is because we really have a hard time, as humans, understanding things we can't see.  We just don't have the ability to "picture" some things in our mind...we need to see them.  Now granted, there are a few people (usually of the engineering type) who have this uncanny ability to see figures in picture form, but most of us do not.  I for one, am one of those.  Those who do not.  So I saw this interesting pictorial and had to share it.  It really helped me to understand how much money a Trillion Dollars is.

We hear our legislators throwing around figures here and there regarding the "stimulus package" and "bailouts" and I think we are missing the urgency of the matter.  Take a minute with me and lets "look" at the information.

So most of us have, at least seen a $100 dollar bill.  To own one and carry it in your wallet is a treat.  We feel "rich" to have one in our possession, right?  We also are a bit careful about what we will cash it in for.  We think twice when we have such a nice piece of  cash in our pocket that is so significant.

*    *    *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *
So, with this as our standard, we will begin. A packet of one hundred $100 bills ($10,000) is less than 1/2" thick and could easily fit in your pocket.  Most of us have never carried this much cash and those of us who have only have done so to carry to go and purchase something like a car or home.

*    *    *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *
The next amount we will look at is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000).  This amount is a bit larger to carry but it still could easily fit into a paper grocery bag.  I think most of us have only seen this much money when we have watched the Armored trucks going in and out of stores or banks.  Possibly in a Hollywood movie.  To get a grasp on this amount, see the graphic below.

*    *    *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *
Now, our next figure is a bit bigger.  We are going to look at what a $100 million dollars (1,000 $1,000's) looks like.  This image is a bit more impressive and as you can see, it fits nicely on a standard wooden pallet.

*    *    *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *
So as these figures are growing, so is our image.  Next, we have $1 BILLION Dollars.  A billion dollars (1 million $1,000's) is ... are you ready?  Yes, these are all on pallets!

*    *    *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *   *
Ok, so now that you are beginning to see the size of these numbers.  We will put the number of ONE TRILLION DOLLARS into our scale.  This is a number that is so large it is followed by 12 zeros.  It is a million $1 million's or a 1,000 $billions.  Does your head hurt yet?  Let's look at it...are you ready?

It is a bit surprising....

Remember to see the man on the left corner for size comparison....

Notice these pallets are DOUBLE-stacked - 50 across by 100 back!  So the next time you hear someone tossing around numbers like a "trillion dollars" you will have a great image of what that looks like.

So, now that you have these basic figures burned into your memory, let's apply them to something real, like our National Dept!  You thought we were done with the last image?  Not exactly.  As of March 2009 the National Dept was $11 TRILLION dollars.  Now this is almost two years ago but the image I have found was from this date.  Currently, (as of December 31, 2010) the national dept was $14.03 trillion....so add another 3 Trillion to the image below and you will see our National Dept as represented in $100 dollar bills:

 Don't forget to see the man in the left corner for size comparison!  Scared yet?  We NEED to STOP the spending in our government!

Worldometers on World Statistics

Interesting web-site I ran across called Worldometers.

What is Worldometers?  It is a world statistics page that is updated in real time.  There are many categories that they have posted here that are real-time stats that are continuously running.

Things like world population, birth, deaths,  current average temperature, google searches and then on to things like health care, education, cars being produced, cell phones sold and on and on.

Crazy all that is being counted in our world because of computers.  Interesting days we live in.  All that we know and are is being tracked, followed, calculated, watched, studied and list goes on and on.

The Arizona Shooting by John Stewart

Don't know what you think about Jon Stewart as I usually don't care for him and I don't make a habit of watching him but thought this was interesting.  This was a show that he taped right after the January 2011, Arizona shooting and I liked how he saw into how media was looking for someone to blame for this horrible act upon the people of Arizona.

This whole issue has torn at all Americans' hearts and as he says, this event is showing how crazy is always just that, crazy.  We need to be careful not to make political issues and people into our enemies; we are all Americans.  We need to be sure we are humane to ALL on both sides of the isle; even when we feel that those across the isle are not kind to us.

Anyway, listen and see what he has to say.

California Welfare Funds

So have you ever wondered why such a prosperous state like California could have gotten itself into so much financial trouble?  I have.  They have plenty of income coming into that state but it appears that someone has been giving away money to the "needy" faster than you can imagine.

David Spady is the State Director for Americans for Prosperity and what he has to say on this clip entitled,  Common Sense could cause your blood to boil.  Unbelievable how much money Californians are paying for some to have the easy life.  Too many people have gotten something for nothing and it seems that this should stop and soon.  Even the Bible says that if man doesn't work, he shall not eat.  Seems they need to get back to basics, quick!

Repeal the Health Care Bill

This is a great chance for you to let your voice be heard regarding the ObamaCare bill that was passed under the last congressional legislative session.  It is reported that 65% of doctors think it (ObamaCare) will "deteriorate" care, according to this week's Thompson-Reuters poll.

With the help of three Democrats, the ObamaCare repeal cruised through the House (245-189) on Wednesday with more support than the bill ever had when it was created.  I understand that many liberals are saying that this vote was "symbolic" but as the Wall Street Journal stated "that is not the same thing as meaningless.  The sunning political reality is that a new entitlement that was supposed to be a landmark of liberal governance has been repudiated by a majority of one chamber of Congress only 10 months after it passed.  This sort of thing never happens."

Interesting that the house has already dealt with the biggest agenda item of the year and the Senate has yet to meet.  Please click on the link here: REPEAL THE HEALTH CARE ACT NOW.  Tell Congress how YOU feel!

Martin Luther King Day - 2011

Monday was the celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday and in that, was a day of reflection.  I have run across many things this week that have given me reason to ponder and stop and reflect.  What an incredible man he was.  What a tragic loss for all of us.  The link above is rare footage from the I Have a Dream speech in Washington, DC.

The man's faith was in the the least, inspirational and his commitment sobering.  Here are a few of my favorite sayings of MLK.

“Cowardice asks the question ‘Is it safe?
Expediency asks the question ‘Is it politic?’
Vanity asks the question, ‘Is it Popular?’
But conscience asks the question ‘Is it right?’
And there comes a time when one must take a position that I neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but he must do it because conscience tells him to be right.”

"Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

"He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

"History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people."

"In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

"Intelligence plus character – that is the true goal of education."

"Let no man pull you low enough to hate him."

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

"Pray, and let God worry."

"The time is always right, to do what is right."

"To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing."

“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive.  He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love.  There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us.  When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.”

"We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools."

"We must pursue peaceful end through peaceful means."
