Bergdahl - the Story Continues

The administration (all roads are pointing to Obama's Assistant National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes) has known the findings of the Army's investigation but still won't acknowledge the Army's charge of desertion against Bowe Bergdahl.  This claim was first made by retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer and he has quite a bit to say about the whole case while interviewed by FOX News.

Bergdahl was in my friend's son's unit. Those guys in his unit spoke out from the on-set that he was a deserter when the story broke that Obama had traded prisoners from Guantanamo for his release. Why won't the administration say what is going on?  Why are they stonewalling?

This information of his desertion will be released (as it has now been done because the Army is pursuing Court-martial proceedings against Bergdahl), so what is the administration hiding? What is going on behind the scenes that this information is being kept from the public?

Why did the administration exchange five Taliban Guantanamo prisoners (who, by-the-way were exchanged without Senior leadership at the pentagon knowing anything about it before it happened) for a known deserter? What about the American's who were from his unit who went out "looking" for him and then lost their lives?

When will American's wake up to the fact that our National leadership is working against the interest of us, it's citizenry? What are we (as a nation) doing to protect us (as a nation) from this group called ISIS? Obama won't even use language to speak out against them by calling them what they are, Islamic Terrorists.  In his last State of the Union Address, Obama gave less than 5 minutes to the topic of "terrorism".  Even liberal journalists like Tom Brokaw and liberal Senator Diane Feinstein are concerned and speaking out that there is NO plan from this administration and that the administration needs to DO something.  Ahhh - but do date, this administration is doing little to nothing as these terrorists gain more territory (last week invading Yemen's presidential palace).

Obama promised "change"!  If you voted for him, you are getting just that, change.  I would like some "un-change" please.  The world is a scary place, and it is getting scarier.

This is why I put my trust in the Lord - He is my source of peace in troubling times!

The Lone Star State...blue? May it never be!

Well, whether you vote or not, the Republican Party is the ONLY party that protects the unborn (even after they are born). This is just ONE issue God cares about and so should we.  I personally am a conservative but I ALWAYS vote. I have read both parties platforms with my Bible in mind and I find more in the Republican stance that reflects my Christian values than I do with the Democratic platform. See my Bible says, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God" and all these "things" will be added unto you. God cares about the Kingdom (Biblical teachings) not the stuff (economy).  I am NOT saying ALL Republicans are Christians or that all Dem's are not. I am saying that when you compare the PLATFORM in which the members embrace, the Bible and it's teachings seem to be more important to the Republicans than to the Democrats. With this, let us pray! We need GOD'S love to be seen in our hearts, in our homes, in our churches (yes - many churches don't even treat their members as they would themselves), in our cities, in our states and in our nation. Father God, we are SO far from you! Forgive our sins and please heal our land. BRING revival to wake people up to YOUR ways, YOUR truth, YOUR Word. As believers we need to always walk with HUMILITY! HUMILITY....wow, that seems to be a dying word in our culture. Even people in the church, well, sometimes we are the "chief priest" of this error. With this, I share a post I have put on several walls:

Here is a troubling thought...the Lone Star State being blue? What? Unheard of you say? Take a minute to read the article below and then realize that WE as a party really do need to wake-up to the changing times before they change OUR state. We (the Republican Party) have to be better listeners, kinder people and basically work on our presentation and perceived image.

I have watched the second election of a president that I was shocked to see win even once and I have had to ask myself how? Why? What happened? I have talked to many who have voted for him - twice! I have noticed some similar things and this article expresses many of the same issues I have experienced.

One common lure is that people like something for free! All of us do. This isn't just the dirty Dem's who are like this. You know, like when you are at Sam's Club and they are handing out samples for FREE and people swarm the table for a morsel. The Dems are making their "tables" look inviting, hip, cool and trendy while the Republicans come across as arrogant, aloof, and bickering old relics. In the last week I have heard the adjective "pompass" before the name of a Republican several times yet the Dems are wearing the matching "shoe on the other foot" and getting by with it. It's a perception and in this culture of "image" being everything, I think the republican party could stand to find a good "personal trainer" so we can get back in the game.

I can hear it now, it's the liberal media's fault. Well, that IS true to some degree but with facebook, twitter, blogs, you-tube and a host of other social media devices I think we have to stop blaming and start doing! Again, this is a perception that Republicans complain and whine but offer no solutions. All of you reading this have a facebook account yet how often do YOU let YOUR voice be heard on the "issues"? Many of us are silent in our realm of influence (our personal facebook wall) and we wonder why things are changing. It's time we ALL engage our friends. WE have to talk to people around us about sometimes very personal and quite possibly politically incorrect views. Surely you have noticed that the left has NO issue sharing their opinions, anywhere, anytime. I am not advocating rude but we do need to speak up and many of you need to let people around you know your thoughts.

The Republican Party's platform have many of the solutions our nation needs but we have been failing to engage the changing national landscape, one person-at-a-time and therefore, adjusting our delivery of our message to the people. This is NOT about compromise, it's about presentation. A little love goes a long way and being a bit more swavey won't hurt.

Benghazi and Accountability

So tell me again why so many defended Hilary and the president when they stood in the rose garden and blamed a video?  Used to be that when leadership were caught in their lies, they resigned before bringing disgrace on our nation.  Remember Watergate?  How many people were fired, removed and/or resigned?  Today we have four people dead in Benghazi and one is an Ambassador not to mention the two former Navy seals and yet it seems some just want to "sweep this under the rug and move forward" like nothing terrible has really happened.

"Sweeping things under the rug and moving forward" seems to be a "spell" over many these days, not only in politics but I have seen this personally in my family and even in the church.  What happened to accountability?  How about responsibility?  Integrity?  Repentance?  Restitution?  When we allow people/leadership to do this, we are basically saying that this "injustice" (whatever it may be) is no big deal and we hear them saying "get over it".

Really?  I have seen this same demon manifesting in pastors taking this same stance over issues in their church when it comes to family disputes.  They want to "sweep things under the rug".  No one wants to get their "hands dirty" and so they "wash their hands" of involvement in anything "messy" so they don't loose tithes or members because too many people today are not about truth; they are about easy.

It reminds me of Meg Ryan's line in "You've Got Mail".  Kathleen Kelly is dealing with the loss of her business and she keeps hearing this line as if it is truth.  She is told that it is nothing personal; it's business.  She finally responds with this dialog, "What is that supposed to mean? I am so sick of that. All that means is that it wasn't personal to *you*. But it was personal to me. It's *personal* to a lot of people. And what's so wrong with being personal, anyway?"

I have seen SO many things in the past few years (even aside from politics) where people act like personal attacks are nothing personal.  Really?  Or where accountability and leadership don't want to get involved with "this or that" because that is a "family issue" or they use the line of it's "personal".

"And what's so wrong with being personal, anyway?" - Kathleen Kelly

We seem to live in a day where accountability and restitution seem to be a thing of the past.  Tragic!

First President to have 22 personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife.
First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000 a year at taxpayer expense.
First President to repeat the Holy Quran & tell us the early morning call of the Azan (Islamic call to worship) is the most beautiful sound on earth.
First President to tell the military men and women that they should pay for their own private insurance because they “volunteered to go to war and knew the consequences”.
Then he was the First President to tell the members of the military that THEY were UNPATRIOTIC for balking at the last suggestion.
First President to side with a foreign nation over one of the American 50 states (Mexico vs Arizona).

How is this hope and change working out for you?

Lesser of Two Evils

Praying for our nation, our election and our God to forgive our land. I can't tell you how many times in the last months my heart is gripped to pray for our nation. God has my attention - does He have yours? How can we (the church) really believe that God is OK with what we are doing as a nation? He rebuked Israel, His beloved, many times for having a heart that was far from him and we think, we in America, won't face the consequences of our luke-warmness? Church - WAKE UP! We can't have evil AND good. We can't be for things that God is against and expect God to bless us. We can't sit by and DO nothing! Remember the parable of the three servants? (Matthew 25:14-30). God rebuked the servant who DID NOTHING! God is a REWARDER of those that DILIGENTLY seek Him, not who casually talk about Him or have bumper-sticker on their car or a cross on their neck!

I am PRAYING for the Christians in this country to WAKE-UP, stop drinking the "kool-aid" and listening to the voice of deception (it is in the church you know) and VOTE for things that God DOES care about...like protecting LIFE, defending MARRIAGE, LOVING ISRAEL! These things DO matter. Remember the scripture in Matthew 6:33 " But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" - (by-the-way, these are written in RED) as Jesus was saying what matters in the KINGDOM not the ECONOMY! "Politically correct" will burn up in the presence of the fiery red, piercing eyes of Jesus when He comes back as KING!

I am SO into the love of God, but God is also a God of justice and this nation will be found wanting if we continue on this course of destruction, thumbing our nose at God and doing our own thing, seeking our own pleasure, and living life our own way. God made a way of escape for even one BEFORE He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, that is my hope, He will make a way of escape for me and my family too (I am even asking for my friends, my church, my neighborhood and my nation but they must humble themselves and bow their knees to the King of King and the Lord of Lords!) Father God, SAVE US from ourselves!

So for those of you who get the question from friends and family about the struggle of voting "the lesser of two evils" or possibly you are struggling yourself, I wanted to share this piece by David Barton that he published today. Put's the matter into a very concise package. ENJOY!

Are we really dealing with a lesser of two evils this election?
by David Barton/WallBuilders on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 9:34am ·

I keep having people tell me that in this election, the only choice we have is to vote for the lesser of two evils. So, let me see if I have this right:

One is pro-abortion, one is pro-life; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is pro-gay-marriage, one is pro-traditional marriage; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is pro-Muslim, one is pro-Israel; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for increasing debt, one is for reducing debt; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is against increased energy exploration, one is for it; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for violating the rights of religious conscience, the other for preserving it intact; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for dramatically cutting the size of the military, the other for strengthening it; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is against parental empowerment and school choice, the other is for it; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for appointing judicial activists to the Supreme Court, the other for original intent constitutionalists; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for the government takeover of private businesses, the other for entrepreneurship and free enterprise and private ownership; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is for an expanded role for the United Nations in American affairs, the other for a reduced role; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

One is against American Exceptionalism and wants to be like Europe, the other promotes American Exceptionalism and America as a unique, special, blessed nation; so, both positions are evil, but one is lesser so?

I'm not sure that I get the lesser of two evils thing, unless folks are deliberately excluding all of these (and many other) serious issues and just looking at the ones they want to pick and choose. The fantasy of two evils are our only choice can be sustained only if one denies the above issues.

David Barton

Steven Spielberg

This was an interesting piece on Steven Spielberg by 60 Minutes a couple of weeks ago.  I found much of it fascinating that this small, insecure, loner kid continued to press on and become, well, Steven Spielberg the Hollywood legend.  What an incredible mind he has and as we all know, such incredible talent.

My heart was saddened by many of his recounts of his childhood as I love the Jews and all those who stand with Israel so to hear him talk of being persecuted was troubling.  I also loved seeing the interview with his parents; sad their marriage didn't make it.  I can only imagine how many years they could have been married.

But why I am posting anything about this matter at all is that Spielberg decided not to release his newest movie, Lincoln, until after the elections.  Why?  Did he paint such a great picture of Lincoln, a Republican, that he didn't want voters to go to the polls and vote against Obama, a democrat?  Why would he hold the release date?

If he did hold the release of the movie to help "save the election" for Obama, than this is indeed troubling to me as I don't understand how Spielberg (a Jew) could support Obama when Obama wouldn't even meet with Bebe Netanyahu over the matter of Iran and Israel.  In fact, Obama has never even visited Israel in all his travels to the middle east his entire presidency.  How can an American president miss visiting our greatest friend and ally in the middle east when he has traveled there several times unless he clearly doesn't like them?  It is clear that many in the Middle East have far from fond affections toward Israel or Jews in general, yet is Spielberg won't release his movie before the elections as to not upset the country.   Troubling indeed.

I look forward to his new movie and I continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for God's beloved Israel and for the Jewish people (wherever they live), and for the Jewish nation and with that, I pray for these elections. My bible is clear on how God views, His beloved Israel and if God loves them, you know I certainly do too and will stand with them.

2016 Obama's America

Last week, a distant family relative who lives in Massachusetts was encouraged by her husband to watch the movie, 2016 Obama's America.  She had been a very quiet about most of her political views, but none-the-less, she was supporter of Obama; that is until she viewed this movie.

Her facebook post was expressing her change in conviction and it all centered around facts she heard in this movie.  See, this is not a politically charged movie, it is merely a documentary on how the Obama machine runs.  Up to this point, people have felt he was a communist, a dictator, and some even have felt he was the anti-Christ himself, but this movie is not based on rhetoric, it's based on facts, and people in Obama's life and their worldview and how they shaped Obama's worldview.  The movie is quite interesting if it were so chilling, as this is our life and our country, not just some Hollywood production that when we leave the movie we go home and resume our lives.  No, this is the story of our current president of the United States and his mission to "even the playing field" by destroying the land that I love because he disapproves of American colonization.

My husband and I saw this movie in the theater the weekend it opened and we have been encouraging people to see the movie for themselves.  Here you can view it from your own home, on your own computer.  Make your own decision but know that you won't be able to say, "no one told you!"

Obama: Then and Now

How people can even think this man is worthy of their vote is beyond me.  I love this clip as it shows that nothing is new, things are still the same and "We've Heard It All Before".    Same speeches.  Same promises and nothing is better.

Look at the numbers folks and you can see, he is just spinning things like he always has.  He said that Bush's economy numbers were "terrible" and yet he is no bragging out how great the SAME numbers are under his administration.  He promised "Hope and Change" and I for one am Hoping FOR Change.  Vote Him Out in 2012.

Eastwood Spars...

I have been away from my blog for a few months due to a move and just the business of life, but I have been convicted to sit back down at the computer to share all the good stuff that is going on.  Yes, GOOD stuff!  There seems to be a wind of HOPE blowing that will be bringing about some CHANGE!

I have been following the Republican Convention that just ended yesterday and I loved SO much of it. Most of the evening speakers had me captive in my seat.  I didn't want to miss one word.  AMAZING. Of course there were a few favorites and so I will begin with one of the highlights!

Last night Clint Eastwood spoke and it was SO great to hear someone from LIBERAL California speak up against the Hollywood machine!  It was an awesome speech and I hope you enjoy it in case you missed it!

Gingrich on Fox News

Whatever you think about Newt Gingrich this is a great interview where you can see his heart, his transformed heart.  Many conservatives don't "trust" that he has "changed" his ways regarding his past "sins" but I don't how many politicians you have seen lately who have to hold back a tear when talking about their faith.

Newt quoting Pope John Paul II from the movie called Nine Days that Changed the World, said "he doesn't say have courage he says 'be not afraid.'"

"If you can hide beneath the cross you have nothing to be ashamed of." Newt Gingrich.

I am still not excited to vote FOR Romney as MANY in the GOP and media keep telling me will be my candidate but  I KNOW I have to vote against Obama again.  This was what I had to do the last election cycle, when I voted against Obama by voting for McCain and because we had such a weak candidate, Obama won.

These are troubling times to me as I continue to pray for a candidate that will CAPTIVATE the American people with convictions that are conservative and God-fearing.  I guess that is rub, we have a nation of people who are NOT God-fearing or conservative.  Either Rick Sanatorium or Newt Gingrich would have my vote over Romney, but unless conservatives begin to rise up and be heard, we will be stuck with Romney.

A Voters' Guide to Republicans

Well, it's been awhile since I have had a moment to blog here and so I first apologize for busyness.  With that, I will make it up to you with this incredible link I am about to share.  This is probably one of my favorites political links I have ever found or posted about and I hope you love it as much as I do too.

So last week was the first of the series of caucuses and primaries that we are going to be bombarded with in the next few months and really at this point, there is no candidate that is taking my breath away.  I have been in prayer for God to raise up a "David" and to send a "Samuel" to anoint him (like in the Old Testament) and based on last weeks results from Iowa, maybe Rick Santorum is that man.  He is not getting the national press, well, not until last week anyway, but that's ok - I don't like the liberal media anyway.

So with all this political news on the airways, I think it would be good to establish who is who in this race and what do some of the political terms really mean.

I have a socialistic uncle who continually debates me on his take regarding America and it's future, but one thing he underestimates is the power of prayer.  He is not an American but he loves our country and our "beautiful" constitution.

With that, please take a few minutes and hear this incredible Voters Guide to Republicans.  I think you may even learn something.  I know I did!  ENJOY!

Class War

Interesting e-mail that I received today. It reflects the feelings of a lot of people.  Class war at its best.  I have never heard this said as simply or as well.

The folks who are getting the free stuff, don't really like the folks who are paying for the free stuff, because the folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff..

And, the folks who are paying for the free stuff want the free stuff to stop. And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!

Now... the people who are forcing the people who pay for the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING the free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.
So...the people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.
We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the free stuff.

Now understand this. All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere between 200 and 250 years after being founded. The reason?

The voters figured out they could vote themselves money from the treasury by electing people who promised to give them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.

The United States officially became a Republic in 1776, 231 years ago. The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff.

We have one chance to change that in 2012. Failure to change that spells the end of the United States as we know it.

ELECTION 2012 IS COMING1  A Nation of Sheep Breeds a Government of Wolves!   I'M 100% for PASSING THIS ON !!! Let’s Take a Stand!!!
  1. Obama: Gone!
  2. Borders: Closed!
  3. Language: English only
  4. Culture: Constitution, and the Bill of Rights!
  5. Drug Free: Mandatory Drug Screening before Welfare!
  6. NO freebies to: Non-Citizens!
We, the people, are coming.  It is estimated that only 86% will send this on. Should be a 100%.  What will you do?

Chris Matthews on Obama

This is really an interesting interview to me.  If you ever watch Television News Talk shows then you have most likely heard of Chris Matthews.  He is currently the host of Hardball on MSNBC and has worked for many news organizations. A speechwriter during the Carter administration, Matthews later worked for Speaker of the House of Representatives Tip O'Neil, which involved him in many key political battles with the Reagan administration.  He has had an unsuccessful campaign run for the Pennsylvania's 4th congressional district seat in the US House of Representatives in 1974 so he has had a LONG career of politics in America.

So why do we care what Matthews has to say?  Well, normally I would agree with you if you posed that question but what is interesting is this recent interview with him in which he poses MANY tough questions regarding the Obama administration.  Basically Matthews says Obama is not worth electing again as he hasn't done anything for the country and he has no clear-cut plan describing what he will do for the country.  Matthews further rants that people are waiting for direction from Obama and wanting him to give us something to do; in other words, lead!

Matthews speaking of Obama says, "Ask us to do something. There is no Peace Corps. There is no Special Forces. There is no 50 mile hikes. There’s no moon program. There’s nothing to root for."

Matthews goes on in the interview to slam Obama and his credibility to lead.  He talks of how he doesn't communicate with congress and he is off doing what?  He challenges with things like, "What are we trying to do in this administration? Why does he want a second term? Would he tell us? What's he going to do in the second term? More of this? Is this it? Is this as good as it gets? Where are we going? Are we going to do something the second term? He has yet to tell us. He has not said one thing about what he would do in the second term. He never tells us what he is going to do with reforming our healthcare systems, Medicare, Medicaid, how is going to reform Social Security. Is he going to deal with long-term debt? How? Is he going to reform the tax system? How? Just tell us. Why are we in this fight with him? Just tell us, Commander, give us our orders and tell us where we’re going, give us the mission. And he hasn't done it."

This is a clear indication that even the "left" has left Obama.  Matthews poses great questions and his discussion sounds more like something I would say than a liberal like he is.  Wake up America!  Obama is just smoke and mirrors and I want to know who is the puppeteer behind him! Very interesting indeed.

Hermain and His Faith

How many politicians do you know that would stand up and sing yet alone at with a bunch a reporters around?  Ok - now add to the fact that it was a song of praise to the Lord?  I am liking this guy more and more.

Praying Herman Cain is not just too good to be true!  I still have reservations about his ties to the fed but I can't establish is there was any muck that he was involved with while being there.

We certainly need a GODLY man to run our country.  If the election were today, he would have my vote.

Edward Andrew Stumm's Parole

On facebook today a friend sent an urgent plea to have letters written to stop the parole of Edward Andrew Stumm.  Stumm is a 67 year old man who back in August of 1993 was found guilty of sexually assaulting eleven mentally-challenged adults who lived in a group home setting where he (Stumm) had a part-time job.  See, my friend's life was personally affected by Stumm's behavior as her brother (a Down's Syndrome man with an IQ of a 3 year old) was one of the victims terrorized by Stumm.  (If you happen to know my friend or more importantly the victim, please don't bring up this situation with him as it still too difficult.)

Many of you are already moved to compassion but there may be many of you who may ask, "What is that to me?"  Well, there is more to this story that you should know.  See, In 1992, Edward Andrew Stumm was a full-time Public School Administrator in Hood County! He used his part-time job as an opportunity to gratify his sexually deviant behavior.  He terrorized his victims through forces sexual acts, as well as threatening torture and violent death.  As I have stated, he was ultimately charged with sexually assaulting eleven of the clients and the jury returned with a guilty verdict and sentenced him to serve: one 99 year sentence for Aggravated Sexual Assault with a Deadly Weapon, three 99-year sentences for Aggravated Sexual Assault, and two 20-year sentences for Sexual Assault. The severity of the sentences deemed appropriate, by the jury who heard the evidence, are indicative of the heinous details of abuse disclosed during the trial.

The terror experienced by the victims of Edward Stumm were, and still are, very real to those he tormented through sexual and emotional abuse.  He came up for parole once already and people were up in arms then that Fifteen years was too little time to serve for all the crimes he committed. Justice demands that Stumm be required to serve his full sentence was the cry after 15 years of imprisonment. People launched a crusade to the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to have him kept in prison, where many feel he belongs.

I did my own checking up on this case and as a Texas resident with children, this is a real threat and now with money being short in the prison system decisions are being made (many we don't know about) that are putting us as risk!  Keeping prisoners in prisons cost money...lot's of money and many think it's time to free up this money but letting criminals loose back into society is a troubling solution.  If we as a people would have dealt with atrocities such as this as crimes punishable by death, maybe people would think twice before dabbling in behavior that could end their own life.  I'm not saying all people would be stopped from their choices but eventually they would be stopped when caught and sentenced to pay with their life.

Back to the problem at hand, Stumm will be paroled UNLESS people rise up and begin to DO something.  What can you do?  Write a letter, send an e-mail or send a fax THIS WEEK (9-19-2011 until 9-23-2011) to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - Victim Services Division.  Here is the address:

Dear Parole Board Members:
RE: Edward Andrew Stumm  TDCJ-ID# 00648361
As a concerned citizen, I am writing to ask that you DO NOT grant parole to Edward Andrew Stumm.  In 1992, Stumm was a full-time public school administrator who worked a part-time job caring for mentally-challenged adults.  Stumm used his part-time position as an opportunity to gratify his sexually deviant behavior.  He was ultimately charged with sexually assaulting eleven of his victims. He terrorized his victims through forced sexual acts, as well as threatening torture and violent death.  Stumm received an accumulative sentence of 436 years.  It is appalling that he is can even be considered for parole.  Stumm's heinous acts should preclude any such consideration.  Justice demands that Stumm be denied parole.
Please DO NOT grant parole to Edward Andrew Stumm.  To lessen the emotional trauma the parole review process has on the victims, please grant a five year or greater set-off for future parole reviews.
Thank you for your consideration,

Seven Ways RICK PERRY wants to change the Constitution

I have to look at the scriptures whenever I am making of who to vote for.  Yes, the scriptures have even answered this question.  Let's look at Matthew 6:33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  See if we seek FIRST the Kingdom of God (vote for people who understand this) and His righteousness (people who live righteousness.  Note this does not say who lives PERFECT, but righteous - there is a difference) then all these things will be added to you.  See if we vote for people who choose to put God first then God will take care of "all" the "things".   I vote righteousness - not change.

With that I am reading about different candidates and what they believe, what they have done and what they say they will do.  Some candidates have a record that we can look at to see what they have done and that will be an indication of what they will do.  Sure wish people would have thought about that back when they were voting for Mr. "present" who really hasn't done much good for our country since he came to office.  He did bring "change" alright and now I "hope" we don't have him four more years.

Chris Moody of The Ticket wrote this article called, Seven Ways Rick Perry wants to change the Constitution.  Get up to date with the facts....

Rick Perry has many ideas about how to change the American government's  founding document. From ending lifetime tenure for federal judges to completely scrapping two whole amendments, the Constitution would see a major overhaul if the Texas governor and Republican presidential candidate had his druthers.
Perry laid out these proposed innovations to the founding document in his book, Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington. He has occasionally mentioned them on the campaign trail. Several of his ideas fall within the realm of mainstream conservative thinking today, but, as you will see, there are also a few surprises.

1. Abolish lifetime tenure for federal judges by amending Article III, Section I of the Constitution.
The nation's framers established a federal court system whereby judges with "good behavior" would be secure in their job for life. Perry believes that provision is ready for an overhaul.
"The Judges," reads Article III, "both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behavior, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services a Compensation which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office."
Perry makes it no secret that he believes the judges on the bench over the past century have acted beyond their constitutional bounds. The problem, Perry reasons, is that members of the judiciary are "unaccountable" to the people, and their lifetime tenure gives them free license to act however they want. In his book, the governor speaks highly of plans to limit their tenure and offers proposals about how to accomplish it.
"'[W]e should take steps to restrict the unlimited power of the courts to rule over us with no accountability," he writes in Fed Up! "There are a number of ideas about how to do this . . . . One such reform would be to institute term limits on what are now lifetime appointments for federal judges, particularly those on the Supreme Court or the circuit courts, which have so much power. One proposal, for example, would have judges roll off every two years based on seniority."

2. Congress should have the power to override Supreme Court decisions with a two-thirds vote.
Ending lifetime tenure for federal justices isn't the only way Perry has proposed suppressing the power of the courts. His book excoriates at length what he sees as overreach from the judicial branch. (The title of Chapter Six is "Nine Unelected Judges Tell Us How to Live.")
Giving Congress the ability to veto their decisions would be another way to take the Court down a notch, Perry says.
"[A]llow Congress to override the Supreme Court with a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate, which risks increased politicization of judicial decisions, but also has the benefit of letting the people stop the Court from unilaterally deciding policy," he writes.

3. Scrap the federal income tax by repealing the Sixteenth Amendment.
The Sixteenth Amendment gives Congress the "power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." It should be abolished immediately, Perry says.
Calling the Sixteenth Amendment "the great milestone on the road to serfdom," Perry's writes that it provides a virtually blank check to the federal government to use for projects with little or no consultation from the states.

4. End the direct election of senators by repealing the Seventeenth Amendment.
Overturning this amendment would restore the original language of the Constitution, which gave state legislators the power to appoint the members of the Senate.
Ratified during the Progressive Era in 1913 , the same year as the Sixteenth Amendment, the Seventeenth Amendment gives citizens the ability to elect senators on their own. Perry writes that supporters of the amendment at the time were "mistakenly" propelled by "a fit of populist rage."
"The American people mistakenly empowered the federal government during a fit of populist rage in the early twentieth century by giving it an unlimited source of income (the Sixteenth Amendment) and by changing the way senators are elected (the Seventeenth Amendment)," he writes.

5. Require the federal government to balance its budget every year.
Of all his proposed ideas, Perry calls this one "the most important," and of all the plans, a balanced budget amendment likely has the best chance of passage.
"The most important thing we could do is amend the Constitution--now--to restrict federal spending," Perry writes in his book. "There are generally thought to be two options: the traditional 'balanced budget amendment' or a straightforward 'spending limit amendment,' either of which would be a significant improvement. I prefer the latter . . . . Let's use the people's document--the Constitution--to put an actual spending limit in place to control the beast in Washington."
A campaign to pass a balanced budget amendment through Congress fell short by just one vote in the Senate in the 1990s.
Last year, House Republicans proposed a spending-limit amendment that would limit federal spending to 20 percent of the economy. According to the amendment's language, the restriction could be overridden by a two-thirds vote in both Houses of Congress or by a declaration of war.

6. The federal Constitution should define marriage as between one man and one woman in all 50 states.
Despite saying last month that he was "fine with" states like New York allowing gay marriage, Perry has now said he supports a constitutional amendment that would permanently ban gay marriage throughout the country and overturn any state laws that define marriage beyond a relationship between one man and one woman.
"I do respect a state's right to have a different opinion and take a different tack if you will, California did that," Perry told the Christian Broadcasting Network in August. "I respect that right, but our founding fathers also said, 'Listen, if you all in the future think things are so important that you need to change the Constitution here's the way you do it'.
In an interview with The Ticket earlier this month, Perry spokeswoman Katherine Cesinger said that even though it would overturn laws in several states, the amendment still fits into Perry's broader philosophy because amendments require the ratification of three-fourths of the states to be added to the Constitution.

7. Abortion should be made illegal throughout the country.
Like the gay marriage issue, Perry at one time believed that abortion policy should be left to the states, as was the case before the 1973 Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade. But in the same Christian Broadcasting Network interview, Perry said that he would support a federal amendment outlawing abortion because it was "so important...to the soul of this country and to the traditional values [of] our founding fathers."

Presidential Eligibility and Election ID Card

In all my life I would have never thought how dishonest people would become when dealing with the top of our own National identity.  I guess it is being young and naive that you believe that all people in America LOVE America and want to keep her free and established as our founders did.  In recent years, it has become clear to all of us that there are just as many agendas here in America as there are agendas in the world.  Nothing is new.  Nothing is surprising. Tyranny is always looking to raise it's head and there will always be a group that is trying to conquer the other.

Yesterday, I saw that Arizona is taking the lead with some of the most advanced legislative action regarding proof of eligibility to hold the highest office in the land, president.  Representative Judy Burges has introduced another bill (as her last one fell short last year because of some last minute political maneuvering) that has 16 members of the Senate as co-sponsors.  It will only take 16 votes in the Senate to pass.  In the House there are 50 co-sponsors with the need for only 31 votes for passage.  There are ten other states who are addressing this issue as well (controlling 107 of the electoral college votes).  Seems many are interested in fixing a gap in the current interpretation of the demands set by the U.S. Constitution regarding federal election procedures that allowed Barack Obama to be nominated, elected and inaugurated without providing proof of his qualifications for the office of president in the 2008 elections.

New Hampshire has created a simple legislation to address the issue requiring an affidavit from a candidate stating that their qualifications including age, residence and being a "natural born citizen".  Georgia has gone quite a bit further with legislation HB37 by Representative Bobby Franklin that not only demands original birth certificate documentation but it also provides a procedure for and declares that citizens have "standing" to challenge the documentation.  They go on to state that each political party shall provide each candidate ... original documentation that he meets the qualifications of Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 1 and Article 2, Section 1, Paragraph 5 of the U.S. Constitution to serve as president of the USA if elected to such office.

So according to the "liberal" media it is just a "minority" of "right-wing" conspiracy theorist who think that Obama was not eligible under the U.S. Constitution to serve as Commander and Chief.  Hmmm - so why are TEN states forming legislation to have candidates PROVE eligibility to serve?  Because the liberal media has is WRONG again!

Repeal the Health Care Bill

This is a great chance for you to let your voice be heard regarding the ObamaCare bill that was passed under the last congressional legislative session.  It is reported that 65% of doctors think it (ObamaCare) will "deteriorate" care, according to this week's Thompson-Reuters poll.

With the help of three Democrats, the ObamaCare repeal cruised through the House (245-189) on Wednesday with more support than the bill ever had when it was created.  I understand that many liberals are saying that this vote was "symbolic" but as the Wall Street Journal stated "that is not the same thing as meaningless.  The sunning political reality is that a new entitlement that was supposed to be a landmark of liberal governance has been repudiated by a majority of one chamber of Congress only 10 months after it passed.  This sort of thing never happens."

Interesting that the house has already dealt with the biggest agenda item of the year and the Senate has yet to meet.  Please click on the link here: REPEAL THE HEALTH CARE ACT NOW.  Tell Congress how YOU feel!

I received the following letter today and had to share it.  Here is another Representative, Leo Berman, in his own words, declaring why we conservatives need to un-seat this current Speaker of the Texas House.

FROM CONSERVATIVE STATE REPRESENTATIVE LEO BERMAN

Dear Joe:

Abe Lincoln said, “You can fool all of the people some of the time; some of the people all of the time; but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time”.

As a 22 year combat veteran, this is an appropriate week for me to prove the veracity of Abe Lincoln’s wisdom in your particular case and those who compromised their integrity along with you.

At the beginning of last session you and 10 of your cohort Republicans, RINOS would be the proper term, decided you did not want my good friend Tom Craddick, a solid conservative Speaker, to preside over the session. You met and voted among yourselves as to who would be your Speaker candidate.

It fell upon you since you were the least controversial although you were the one with the least service in the House. You had 11 votes but needed 65 more to make the 76 it takes to elect a Speaker.

You decided to go to the Democrats who eventually gave you the 65 votes to win. What did you give them? You gave them a promise not to bring legislation dealing with ILLEGAL ALIENS, PRO-LIFE ISSUES, or VOTER-ID to the House floor and that is exactly what happened during the session. The Democrats loved that deal because they opposed all three issues vehemently.

When I saw that no bills on illegal aliens were coming out of the State Affairs Committee Chaired by Rep. Burt Solomons, I did notice that Democrats were bringing bills to the floor that would have funneled millions of dollars directly to illegal aliens. I started to amend those bills immediately, with simple words which said, “These benefits are for U.S. citizens only”.

Excuse the term, but the Democrats went “nuts” over my amendments and Joe, you tried to come to their rescue. You came to my desk on the House floor and asked what you can do for me (like hearing one of my bills in Solomon’s committee) to get me to stop amending the Democrats’ bills. I could not believe what I heard from you. I asked you if you took the same oath of office that I did and then requested that you leave my desk quickly before I really got angry.

Finally, you single-handedly killed the Voter –ID Bill, a bill that 96% of Republicans in the 2008 Primary election voted to have considered in the next session.

Your Elections Committee Chair Todd Smith, another RINO, finally brought out a Voter-ID Bill with two weeks remaining in the session. You allowed the Democrat Speaker Pro-Tem, Rep. Craig Eiland, to delay the session by 5 full days, which automatically killed the Voter-ID Bill.

You could have stopped that from day 1 through day 5 but you sat on your hands somewhere behind the House Chamber. Your tenure as Speaker was a disaster as far as the fact that you called yourself a Republican.

On the first day of any session, it is a custom in the House that everyone votes for the Speaker candidate with 76 votes. There was not a Red Light on the board. You received every vote according to custom.

However, you and your cohorts, who were now positioned on every major committee, punished conservative leaders like me. Most did not get any major bills out of committee even though all followed the House custom and voted Yes for your Speakership.

Now, you have changed that custom! If you survive and there is a vote on you for Speaker, my vote will light up Red meaning NO. I believe there will be many NO’s on the board since you and your remaining 6 RINOS will keep conservative legislation from the floor.

By the way, the remaining 6 RINOS are Reps. Byron Cook, Charley Geren, Burt Solomons, Rob Eissler, Jim Keffer and you. Closely affiliated with this group are Reps. Dan Branch, Todd Smith, Vickie Truitt, Lois Kolkhorst and others who have written glowing statements about your service as Speaker.

They are all looking for something for themselves and will compromise their integrity for personal gain. I will NEVER compromise my integrity by giving you a green light if it comes to that. My vote will be a strong NO.

Recently, in the days prior to the General election [Nov. 2, 2010] you supported with your presence and funds Democrats who were opposed by substantial Republican candidates. Remember you promised the Democrats that you would not personally oppose one of their incumbents.

When I announced for Speaker and you realized that you had opposition, you shelled out over $700,000 to Republicans some of whom were actually conservatives, but I believe you did so in violation of State law and I filed an Ethics Commission violation against you with both the Ethics Commission and the District Attorney of Travis County. One of your spokesman said my complaint has no merit. We shall see!

To my colleagues in the House, I say you all know what Straus and his 10 cohorts did last session. They compromised their integrity. Don’t compromise yours by voting with Straus and writing fictitious statements about the service he provided. It was a farce! My military career forced me to detest those who would compromise their integrity for personal gain. You all know what I mean!

Sincerely,

/s/Leo Berman
